Abstract:Objective: To understand the usage of pediatric drugs in 17 pediatric specialty hospitals nationwide from 2016 to 2020, and provide reference and guidance for the development of the essential drug catalog for children and the improvement of the medical insurance catalog in China. Method: Based on the monitoring data of pediatric drug use reported by the National Medical Information Network (CMEI) of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association from 2016 to 2020, the overall situation of the sample hospitals and the clinical drug use of children in various ATC categories were analyzed. Result: In the various ATC categories, the trend of systemic use of anti infective drugs decreasing is significant in the average hospital expenditure, while the trend of respiratory and digestive system and metabolic drugs decreasing is significant in the average hospital DDDS. In 2020, the average number of hospital grade standards for essential drugs (2018) accounted for 15.82% of the total number of drug use standards, while in 2019, the average number of hospital grade standards for medical insurance (2019) accounted for 8.23% of the total number of drug use standards. Conclusion: The use of pediatric medication from 2016 to 2020 is generally reasonable, and there is still a certain gap between the existing essential drug catalog and medical insurance catalog and actual clinical usage habits. The essential drug catalog and medical insurance catalog still need to be adjusted. Objective: To understand the usage of pediatric drugs in 17 pediatric specialty hospitals nationwide from 2016 to 2020, and provide reference and guidance for the development of the essential drug catalog for children and the improvement of the medical insurance catalog in China.
