| Review of chemical constituents, pharmacological effects and clinical practices of Paederia scandens (Lour.) Merr. |

| Abstract:Paederia scandens (Lour.) Merri., a climbing plant, belonging to the family Rubiaceae, was a commonly used herbal medicine in folklore medicine. The chemical constituents of Paederia scandens were mainly flavonoids, iridoid glycosides and volatile oils. Paederia scandens had significant effects of anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities. It was used for curing the pains and gastrointestinal diseases in clinic practice.The chemical constituents, pharmacological effects and clinical practices of Paederia scandens in recent years were summarized. It could provide the scientific basis for the research, development and the clinical application of Paederia scandens in future. |
